Ground Effects Install?
Does anyone know how easy / hard the ground effects install will be? I am looking to purchase these and get them painted to match. (father is in auto-body) and install myself. . .
Do we have to drill holes in the body? I really would much rather not do that. . . are they attached with the double sided tape? thanks for the input.

Why not have them painted and then take them to your dealer and have him install them? Installation is included in the GFX Rpo.

Even if something does need drilling....would you rather have a stranger do it than do it yourself? I think not...
If any holes had to be drilled I know that I would be using a good sealant on all the threads and the area around the hole and screw in en effort to prevent rust later. I doubt that an installer would do anything like that if it does not specifically say to do it in the install instructions. It would subject him to civil liability later if he did anything differently than the instructions say to do it. Its like my father always told me..."why pay somebody to screw something up when you can screw it up yourself for free".

Check for other thread but I remember reading on here they are quite difficult to install, quite a bit of drilling and estimated 4hr installation.

Well, my father has been in the auto business since he was 19. I figured I could get him to do it for free. . . just need to know how hard it was going to be. . .

I don't think it is difficult. It is time consuming and it is a 2 person job.

I have the installation manual... I will put it into a PDF and post it tomorrow... because I left it at work.
It looks very difficult to me... it is like 20 pages long. requires removal of all four tires, 2 person job, requires a lot of drilling, .....

it works fine Bell, thanks again. .
So I KNOW that my car would be the only one the dealership would see with the gnd efx package. . . It might take a little longer but I think doing it myslef would be a peace of mind.
