Ground Effects Package comes painted or unpainted? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I am putting an order in for a 2011 Chevy Camaro. I am having ground effects package installed, but I am wondering when I pick it up will it be a vinyl black material or will it be painted to match the color of my car. Has anyone else had to paint theirs and if so, how much did it cost to paint.

It comes unpainted.My dealer charged me $400 to paint them.

Grey Argentia is the color out of the box, I believe. As the others have posted, the dealership will have to paint them body matching if that is the way you want to go. Others have left them unpainted, it is a personal preference but I think the car looks better and more complete with them painted.

If you go to chevy.com and do a "build your own" for a Camaro you'll see under the exterior tab that there is now an "alternate finish" ground effects option. When you select that, many of the exterior color choices are x'd out except for Summit White, Black, Cyber Gray and Victory Red. Those are available as painted to match. If you want the other colors, many dealers will paint the argent gray ground effects to match.

Definately......paint to match the car! Someone mentioned here on the Forum that GM was possibly going to offer the ground effects painted from the factory. I haven't seen or heard anything offical though.

You can order some body color from gmpartsplus.com. I got mine before this and had a dealer paint it body color. Paid $470.00 to be painted and installed and it looks great.

the GFX are now offered already painted, they started offering it the same week I paid my dealer $700 to have mine painted to match my new SS, about three weeks ago?

Yes, they are now painted to match. We're going to have a special on them next month.

But as mentioned earlier,only certain colors are offered....Red,White,Black,and Cyber Gray.

Same way with the GM accessory blade spoiler,they are offered prepainted in the same four colors.

Mine came unpainted, and though I could have had them painted, I like how the unpainted GFX look with IBM.

In my listing I certainly saw Inferno Orange. I believe some other colors are offered. I'll have to check it out in depth.
