You better hope it's just a loose connecter...cause GM can't figure out how to ship one of these modules from Oshawa to the states.
Hey Sebert... why don't you bring your new car down to the car show next weekend?!

LOL

I hope you get it back soon :(

I have been a resident gearhead in a Bonneville club for many years and 90% of the time an intermittent light is the fault of a connector continuity.
If they can't get the part, have them clean all air bag connectors, tighten up on the sockets, put them on and off a few times and the problem will probably go away.

Well ,it was no longer intermittent when it went back in,anyway part came in today....fingers are crossed that this was the problem.

Still love my car and pray it's not a lemon....:(

600 miles on our car and we have the same problem. Service air bag has happened 3 times while my wife is driving the car. Has not happend with me driving (maybe she isn't driving it hard enough). The car is in the shop now. Hopefully this is the last issue we will have.

It was very sporadic for me, sometimes not at all...others, the whole time I was driving for the day.
But I'm up to 1500 miles on the car and it hasn't come on again.

Well I now have the service airbag warning now! I have 3200 miles on my car and yesterday morning me and my daughter were out riding and as I put on the turn signal the warning appeared and kept dinging every 5 seconds. I pulled off the road and got the manual out. I made her get in the back seat just in case the thing decided to go off while driving down the road. It kept doing it even after she was out of the seat. So we drove straight home and as I turned on our road it quit. It hasn't done it since and I have drove the car 2 more times since then. I was thinking maybe something loose in the steering wheel? Well my husband wants me to wait and see if it does it again before we take it to the dealer to poke and prod at. I'm almost afraid to drive it, I'm waiting for the airbag to explode while I'm driving down the highway and cause an accident!

Took our car in on Wed. and it is still at the dealer. Supposedly waiting on a part. I am trying to be patient but I am starting to get agravated. Was going to be fixed on Thurs. then Friday, and now they say today. I guess we will wait and see. I am def. not holding my breath.

This started happening to me after installing a viper alarm.

Had to remove the guage cluster plug (along with the console trim) and the connectors up by the onstart equipment on the headliner.

I wonder if they didnt click in good enough. Guess I'll check that tonight after work.

Have any of you with this problem taken your car to the dealership yet? Our car is still in the shop waiting on a part, and they will not let us pick the car up. They say it is now a liability issue because it is dealing with the airbag. I understand why they will not let us have it, but it is my car. I guess I am just pissed it can take this long to repair it.
