2014 Rear bumper problems???
Was at the dealer the other day and they got two brand new 2014
SS. I asked what was up with the license plate areas and they said the holes where you put on the license plate was not in the right areas. I didn't think about it at the time, but wondering if somehow they got European specs rear bumper covers, because their license plates are longer and skinnier than ours

There is no problem, they just need to know what they are doing
Attaching the 2014 Camaro's Rear License Plate The rear fascia of the 2014 Camaro has small dimples at various locations around the license plate area. These dimples provide an accurate reference for the mounting locations for various sized license plates, depending on the market where the car is sold. During Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), it may appear that the license plate mounting holes should line up with the large rectangular holes in the rear fascia. This is not the case. Behind each of the rear fascia dimples (See image below) is a plastic boss. Center the license plate on the rear fascia and confirm that a dimple is visible in each of the license plate mounting holes. With the correct location confirmed, install the license plate using the self-tapping screws included in the PDI bag. It is not necessary to pre-drill the holes. The self-tapping screws will attach the license plate to the rear fascia. |

They could also use an old trick- put masking tape over the dimples, then get a plate, and stick a PENCIL THROUGH THE HOLES
This is not rocket surgery. You'd think anyone with the pluck of a weevil in a biscuit could figger this out hell you'd figure a tech would have some sort of mechanical aptitude too

You have to drill holes in rear bumper? There are not four built-in female corners to screw in the license plate?

Apparently different states have different holes for their license plates (as well as other countries, obviously) so this is actually a good thing. |
