2012 SS A6 tail shaft seal leaking

Car has @6200 miles on it. Just got back from a 2000 mi. trip and at some point on the trip the tail shaft seal (or propeller shaft seal as GM calls it)started leaking. I know for a fact it wasn't leaking before the trip. It leaked enough that its dripping off of the transmission mount cross member. Dealer covered it under warranty no problem. I haven't seen anyone else with this issue. They had to order the seal from Michigan, dealer said that means they don't have to change very many so I'm wondering what happened with mine. Any ideas?

That just happens on new cars the seal got knicked during installation from the factory. Seen it quite a bit when i was a mechanic.

Ok, i was just thinking it would have started leaking sooner if so. Oh well, just hope it doesn't do it again anytime soon.
Thanks
