Could anyone tell me if I replace the Resonator with the X pipe (I have the muffler Delete) will it be louder? I like the sound now and didn't really want it louder.

I've been told it sounds deeper and a little bit louder.

Just did it on my cat back set up. Cut out resonated xpipe, put in true xpipe. it is definitely louder.

Anyone think it a bad idea to run no X-pipe and just a straight through pipe?

Where do you purchase this long w-pipe that also deletes the resonators? I want to at least delete the resonators and if I can add an x-pipe at the same time it would be great. I don't know of any muffler shops near me. Only CAR-X, Merlins, etc. They charge BIG BUCKS to just put the car on the hoist. SUCKS.

Deleted my resonator yesterday but decided to just straight pipe it through with no x-pipe and holy crap did it make a difference. The drone is not bad with AFM still on and man does it wake this car up! If you don't mind being loud but not too loud so that small children run in fear, I would recommend a resonator and muffler delete.

Yeah but I think you just slowed down your car. I had to put a X-Pipe in a couple of days after the resonator delete because she really slowed down. Not tire spin at all without X-Pipe. Put the pipe in and she was spinning like a mad woman.

I was told taking out the resonator and then no X-Pipe I lost about 50HP and 50TRQ at the back wheels.

Really? Only lag I noticed was just getting rolling and after that it seems right on que with how it drove before the delete. Is it because of the backpressure or something else? Any one experience the same thing with their delete?

50hp seems a bit extreme .... that's like saying you lost one cylinder!
X-pipes are supposed to aid in adding low-end torque over just straight dual pipes, but 50 hp & 50 ft/lbs of torque? Now way ...

Jeff2010ssmanual .... go onto Summit Racing and you can purchase the Edelbrock x-pipe for around $150 ... I watched the muffler shop install mine and it went right on with no additional pipe .... they give you clamps, but my guys welded it just in case ... mine with the GMPP Off-Road system is sweet ... maybe not loud enough ...

But then again, my last car was a blown Pro-Street Chevy II ... so what the hell do I know?

I deleted my resonator and replaced with straight pipes, and noticed a big difference in hp; especially in manual mode; eventually replaced the two garbade cans in the back with dynomax bullets.

Did you feel a slight lag off the line like I did (as far as cruising off the line not getting on it)? And yeah I just did a muffler delete on the garbage cans but originally was actually considering doing a set of a bullets but after the muffler delete and now resonator delete I don't think I want to change the sound...I'm very satisfied as it is now
