Daytime Pix

Got my kit installed today! Here are some daytime pictures for 2FST2LIV2YNG2DY. Sorry, I forgot to get a close up of the blue.

Also, for anybody wondering this kit does work with the Ottobody harness for non-RS cars. You simply leave the white halo wire on the Ottobody harness disconnected from anything.

I'll probably keep them blue most of the time, but I do like how the purple looks on IBM. Overall the install wasn't too bad. Thanks to SJM for a great kit and to Showstopper for the installation of the LEDs into the headlight housings! I am very pleased with how this turned out.

Finally, just to be sure, if the LED on the control switch is off the power is off, correct? I wired the kit to a constant power source and can only get the halos to go off in "editing mode" between the green and blue adjustment periods by holding in the knob. Is this the correct way to turn them off? I just don't want them to drain the battery when I think they are off. I am also asking this because you say the kit always powers up white, but when I shut them off this way they always come back on blue. If I am missing something I would appreciate it if you could help me out.

Yes, if the LED on the control panel is off, the halos are off. They are always in sync.

You have found a creative way to turn them off when wiring to constant power! As you have found, there is no provision on the panel to turn them off. The idea was to power them from a switched source.

I do have some nice switches in stock that you could use as a power switch. They are flat black, 7/8" across, and mount in a 3/4" hole.

I purchased a used set of OEM RS headlights on ebay.

As long as it doesn't drain the battery I'm fine with it. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions yet again!

Note that the power to the LED's is off, but, the controller is still powered. The drain will be very minimal in this mode.

There are often lengthy periods of time when I do not drive the car, so perhaps a power switch would be beneficial. Here is where I connected my power cable.

I ran the ground to the black bolt in the center of the second picture. This is the side of the dash on the driver side with the side panel popped off. If I were to get a power switch, does it look like it could be easily installed where I could get to it? Also if you could post or PM how much for the power switch I would appreciate it. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Wow....these are exactly what I have been searching for,I like the fact that these do not have those annoying dots that can easily be seen on other colored halos.PM sent for price and availability.

Will send PM!

The tails are progressing. I have pulled v1 out of my car and am upgrading them to v2. Way too much going on in the summer. :(
