CAI pipe get too hot?

I heard that if the cai pipe to intake gets too hot, loss of air happens. Does the pipe need to be wrapped or is this not true?

It does get very hot, but wrapping it would only help hold the heat in. CAI ceramic coats the pipe so ideally it's only hot outside not in. That said, if you want to know if that is true, go for a nice long drive in the summer, as soon as you get home, pull the filter and stick your hand/arm inside of the tube.

You won't lose airflow because the pipe is hot. People usually just get over concerned with "heat soaking" the IAT sensor built into the MAF. What they fail to realize is that as soon as you go WOT, the substantially higher airflow makes the IAT react to what's actually coming in.

It looks like someone needs to look up the physics behind heat transfer again.

The tube being hot is a good thing. This means it is not transferring that heat to the air inside the tube. If you go for a drive and the tube is only warm is when I would be worried.
