Question for SC Camaro owners

Just received my first property tax bill and was some what blown away. It's $422 for my 2010 2SS. Is this normal? My G8 GT was only $160 a year.

Yea, that's about right. I bought mine new and the first tax bill was damn near 2 monthly payments. The tax is based on the current value of the car. You can get a reduction if you have high mileage or some other reason for diminished value.

I wish mine had been $422. I live in Spartanburg County and my 2010 2SS tax bill was $525.00

I am in Spartanburg County as well, same for me $525 the first year. I believe it also goes by gvwr as well as value, our Honda Odyssey Minivan was over $800 the first year.

Looks like Orangeburg County takes the prize, my tax bill was in excess of $600.00.

Yikes! I just bought my 2010 LT at the end of March - I'm in Horry county here and my taxes aren't up until November ... I'm hoping I don't get the same surprise!

I live in Beaufort county and last year my 2011 camaro was $400 plus. I have 6 cars 2 of which are 5gen Camaros. After a car is 10 years old it goes to a standard of still about $65. I just try not to think about it so I dont get up set being I proberly pay over $2000 a year for just taxes on cars. Thanks for reminding me Ill be thinking about this all day now.

Nope, Richland County is the grand prize winner. A tad over 700 this year.
