Went to the track for the first time

So went to the local strip for the first time in any car , ran a.......wait for it.......17.995@ 74 mph! I couldn't for the life of me get into second gear , nothing but grind 3 times before i finally got it to engage and at that point was rolling at a sad 43 mph. Second run was still bad at a 15.1@95 mph , forgot to shift to third and got owned by the rev limiter. But the it was still fun and I just need to keep practicing. Going back in two weeks , and probably every other Friday when I am off. The first run I will say was going smooth as far as launch , but stupid grind into second.

well, thats what i call 1st time jitters...you were overanxious...my best 60 ft time was 1.6 and of course it would have to be the only time i missed 2nd gear....and when you get a few $$$ , pick up a mgw shifter, it will help a lot..but still lots of practice

Problem is i know i forgot on the 2-3 shift second run. The first run second just grinded , clutch to the floor , pulling straight back. I even moved it to neutral to try pulling to second again and it grinded 2 more times before engaging. And fun fact I had my RBG scanner from AAC on in the flashing red/blue someone took a picture and told the sheriff at the gate. So i got stopped on my way out and got all my information taken down. People(not the sheriff) need to mind their own damn business.

Another thing there was a '65(I think) Nova wagon running 8.12 at 180 MPH last night. Twin turbo'd and he said somewhere in the 1500 hp range. At launch it lifted and ran on three tires for about 150 feet. Was BADASS. Also saw a mid 80's honda 4 door running 10.5s , was cool but also weird. Beat the 4th gen camaro it was paired with.

Pretty sure my buddy got some videos of the Nova and some other stuff. I will not be posting the video of my failure , typing it is bad enough.

I still haveing troulbe launching the car good RT. But then again only haveing 12 runs under my belt.

i have better luck not engaging clutch to floor, there is a sweet spot between top of pedal and fully depressed, you just have to find it and get used to shifting there...but it is a fine line between missing gear and snatching perfect
