Because some people understand that there is more to going fast than peak hp. Power to weight, torque, and 'area under the curve' mean a whole lot more than peak power.

Auto makers market horsepower figures for consumers exactly like you. Carroll Shelby said this many years ago: "Horsepower sells cars, but torque wins races." The average consumer continues to only look at horsepower, and ignores the more important torque number.

Go ahead and buy the Camaro V6 - it's a fresh car, a good deal and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Just don't try beating a Mustang GT with it, because you'll fail.

You've got to love the perpetual, ever present, "Camaro V. Mustang" comparisons.

Which car is faster is only one measuring tool. You can choose any number of facts to argue which is better.

And rest assured, there'll be stories of V6 Camaro's beating GT Mustangs, just as there'll be stories of Mustangs beating Camaro's. It's as predictable as the rising of the sun.

My point is, enjoy which ever car it is you choose to drive. There will always be someone faster than you.
