Did you wear out the Pirelli rears or the front first?
I read that some people are wearing out their rears first and some are wearing out their fronts first. I have 12k miles and the fronts are pretty much done but the rears still have 50% left to go.
What type of driving do you do and which ones do you have worn out first? Mine is a DD and I don't get too crazy. One or two WOT pulls a day is about it. 90% stop and go traffic. |

Was the wear even? My fronts still had plenty of tread when the rears wore out at 17k.

I put new tires on at 34K miles.....the rears were ready to change, the fronts still could have gone another 10k miles easy.

Yeah the wear was even side to side. Maybe it's because I drive this car 90% in stop and go traffic so I'm not on the gas a lot but am on the brakes.
I don't know how some of you guys get 20-30k on these stock tires. Mine just turned 12k and it's pretty much done. And I do not even drive my car hard! |

Just changed out the fronts at 24,000 and have another 10,000 left on the rears. Thought I would get at least 36,000 out of 4 but not gonna happen.

10K changed the rears. My fronts were still ok but I changed them as well to have a fresh set. I dont do much burnouts, I drive hard and love barking the ass when cruising along.

It will depend on your driving style.
If your a drag racer or like to do burnouts, then you'll wear out your rear tires way before your front tires. If you drive normally (or into carving corners alot), you'll wear out your front tires before your rear tires. |

I've worn out the rears faster than the fronts.. I don't really know why though.

My rears are wearing faster. Checked all of my tires the other day. The fronts were 7/32 tread left, the driver side rear was 6 or 5/32, and the passenger rear was 4/32. I currently have almost 16k miles and have had the car a year at the end of the month. I will be replacing my rears here soon with Invo's.
The only way for the fronts to wear quicker is as others have said: lots of cornering, lots of DD driving, and lots of stop and go.

Fronts wore first here but only by a slight margin - they are both pretty close to shot at 21K. I guess I drive hard.

Its a rear wheel car, if properly balanced the rears should always wear quicker
