Chevy teases 2016 convertible

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2015/06/...cc8c-312403517

More to follow 6/24.

I had the opportunity to talk at length with one of the Camaro Program Managers at the Reveal about the tonneau cover. He concluded by saying I would be very pleased with the '16 version. I took that to mean a power operated, hard cover tonneau. We shall see.

I had my convertible in for the "nub" that rubs and does not properly align when the roof closes. While I was there, the general manager told me that he participated in a test drive day put on by Chevrolet during which he test drove the new convertible. He confirmed that it has a power tonneau cover "like the BMW" and the top can be opened and closed up to 30 MPH. I can't wait.

Who did the review, the CEO of Ford? Who cares what he thinks? Just give us the data.

Current model is NOT a manual top, it's a power electric top. The tonneau cover goes on by hand in about a minute or so. Perhaps with the new Camaro, it has a built in hard tonneau cover.

not to be skeptical, all this sounds good, but I would never consider a 2016 new vert with all this mechanical stuff till I am sure it is all working good, so, maybe wait till a 2017 or 18 model. I saw how the 2011 and 2012 verts with all those problems, and I am just leary of a first year model . maybe I am wrong. but, a power retractable cover is great, but I can see the potential for issues already.

Thanks for clarifying, obviously I have no idea how convertible tops work on a camaro. Maybe I should get one to learn...
