I told you what they said in the post above. I don't want to get into how to continue discussing with Kooks, I just want to focus on technical fixes. Thanks.

I know you said you won't do it, but if you dimple it, you will not see it and the problem will be fixed. Ask yourself: would you rather deal with the stress of it rubbing or the stress of having to know you dimpled it to make it work? I surmise had you dimpled it before now, you would have forgotten you did it. I forget I did mine until I read a thread like this. The rubbed off paint can be fixed by having someone turn the steering wheel lock to lock while you hold a brush containing touch up paint. Turn back and forth as needed.

Definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

It is time to do something different, whether it is dimpling the header (cheapest) or buying a new set (most expensive).

Short of a dimple or playing with the mounts, you don't have any option but keep messing with Kooks and hope for the best.

Send them back and get Kooks to exchange them!

If I paid $300 for headers a dimple would not be a problem but 1k+ Kooks should be sending you a new set.

Header has to be removed:

1. Send to Kooks

or

2. Dimple

Reinstall & move on.....

Should have been noticed and addressed during installation. Ignorance is no excuse here, though I do feel your pain and it sucks to have to fix it now. It's an aftermarket part, and while it probably fits 99/100 cars, your results will always vary.

Thanks for the bold and underline ignorance. Again, for the third time now. There is no rubbing or impact at a stand still. It can't be noticed until driving and making right turns.

Thanks to everyone who contributed. It is obvious there is nothing further to be done except bite the bullet and work with Kooks. Everyone else can save their pointless criticism and judgment.

I'd just dimple it and have them give you some bux back.

Again, this is sheer ignorance. Quite obviously the header will move side to side at least 1/4 to half an inch during operation as the engine is fairly compliant with stock engine mounts.

Are your headers 2" primaries?

We'll see how your headers look in a year lol.

Well, thank god you're so smart to point all these things out in hindsight. Engine is fairly compliant with stock engine mounts huh? That makes a lot of sense.

Never noticed were he said they were 2in, most step headers I've seen on a small block are 1 7/8-1 3/4 or 1 3/4 to 1 5/8. Not sure why you would need 2in headers unless you bored it to a 427 then still not sure you would need them, Small block needs some back pressure.. Now I speak from experience with old school small blocks, Still learning the LS motors.

And my headers will be a year old Oct 10th I'll get you some pictures..

Edit sorry I put them on back in April of last year..

Jannetty did a test of the 3 sizes (not the stepped ones) and found the 2" gave the most HP and torque. Not by much but the back pressure isn't a biggy for the ls3.
