Sunroof = less head room????

I am new to this site but not new to Camaros.

I have searched the site and haven't came across the answer I'm looking for, so may be somebody can help out.

My question is... if the sunroof is installed, does it take away any of the available head room inside the car above the driver?

I am going to order a 2LT Imperial Blue with the RS package and possibly a sunroof and undecided on the tranny(depends on the sunroof). My wife likes the sunroof and I wouldn't mind having it, but if it takes away from the roof of the car clearing the top of my head, it will be an option I can live without.

So far I have only seen 2 SS models at 2 different dealers. Both of them have the sunroof so I don't know if I should go without the sunroof, will I gain a little clearance over my head without it? I'm 6'4" tall and it could be an issue. When I sat in the 2 w/sunroofs, I had to let the seat all the way down and recline it back to get may be 1 inch or less of clearance. When I did this, it would make it real hard to shift a manual transmission. I have asked the local salesman to try and find out or to let me know if they get in a Camaro without it so I can see if there is any difference.

I hope this is clear enough so someone may be able to help out with some info.

I had this same concern and the only way I could settle it was to set in both... There may be a minimal loss of headroom, but I'm 6'4" and didn't notice any. The thing that saved them here is the fact that the sunroof goes up/out instead of down/in. Hope that helps!

Order the sunroof, you won't regret it!

I am 6'3" and have sat in both with no problem.

That sounds like a lot (1.75 inches). I read that the difference was (.5) or a 1/2 .
But I read this in a Magazine (I believe it was GM High Tech).

I am tall bodied, and I didn't notice a difference. Of course, keep in mind that I have to drop the seat to the floor just so that my legs will fit comfortably.

.5 was he number going around before production it was speculation. I know I have about an inch without and with sunroof my head touches constantly. A GM line worker confirmed it was around 1.75.

I'm 5'10" and have driven both. There is less headroom with the sunroof but if you position the back of the seat back you gain more headroom. It feels a little tight in my opinion.

Yes, it reduces headroom, looks ugly when open, costs almost $1000, and last but not least takes the beautiful reverse mohawk out of the roof design and gives you a round roof similar to the mustangs! I took mine off my order!
