Where is the thermostat?

My car was reading that it was 113 degrees outside although it was in the 90s. So my question is, where is it reading the temperature? I tried doing a search in this forum and couldn't find the answer, so I apologize in advance if there is a duplicate thread.

Behind the grill on the passenger side right in front of the radiator. It's about 3/4 of the way down.

Your thermostat has nothing to do with this reading. Outside air temp is measured by a sensor i believe on the crash bar behind the front bumper.

I was really curious about this, as well. With my torque app, I've been monitoring about a 3-4 difference between what the radio says the outside air temp is and what torque is telling me my ambient temp is. I have a vararam, and if the sensor is in front of the radiator like that, it should be roughly the same as my intake temp. But torque tells me, for example, 50 ambient (outside) and 59 intake, while the radio will read 54 degrees. Seems to me the ambient and radio temp should be the same, and the vararam intake temp shouldn't be more than about 53 or so. This is at highway speeds, sitting at a redlight, my intake may rise up to 80 - 90 on 50 deg day.
