When to apply opti-coat?
My dads bud is a detailer and is going to buffer my car and get all that crummy sap sitting on my cars finish.
Now.... I am wanting to do a coat of opti-coat aswell... Should he buffer the opticoat into it? Is the opti-coat a "wax" replacement OR do you add the opticoat AFTER the wax application? Or opticoat THEN wax? any help would be appreciated |

Opticoat is put on a clean surface. Prep is absolutely essential, so after buffing to a perfect finish (any marks on the paint are sealed underneath Opticoat) you must follow it with an IPA wipedown, or Eraser. It is a nano coating that is put on bare paint (no wax or sealants), I advise you to look quite into it because if he's not familiar with it you can easily cause quite a bit of trouble if you don't apply it correctly.

It's actually not a Nano coating, but that's really not important.

Cquartz is an alternative to this coating as well. Factor in stone chips and other cosmetic damage before you decide. The only way to remove this is via polishing, waxes and sealants will not be able to bond to the paint properly (wont last long) once this is done. |
