I think when you guys see the side by side comparison of a camaro with hids on and the halos on, i think for alot of people, not all, but for alot, they will want HID projector headlights after. I didnt really care for the HIDs before, i did, but i didnt truly appreciate it until i got to see it in person and understand why the ones from the RS package are great

I know! they're a bunch of pompous d**che bags!
if i can get a set of replacement camaro headlights for fairly cheap i'll prolly work on setting up a HID/Halo upgrade kit for all us non RS peoples

Just as an example, this is my 2008 crew cab. I paid $215 to the door for both headlights. The aftermarket headlights came with new bulbs(H1 for both low and hi beam). The low beam is a projector and looks identical to HID projector beams and I hooked the LEDs and halos up to a switch so I can leave them turned on when the truck is off if I want to. Of course the guys talking about the factory equipment are going to say its better than aftermarket stuff but that what GOOD aftermarket companies do is IMPROVE on the factory equipment.

It's my understanding that the halo rings are the low beam headlights? They are not just running lights. The center of the ring is used for high beam?
Also, hate to burst anyone's bubble, but LED headlights will eventually surpass Xenon and HID for headlights. They'll be cheaper, near-indestructible, offer better lighting, lower power usage, and unlimited implementation of design. It's coming (already on top end Cadillac's in next model year I believe). |

Here is a better pic of them during the day. Halo lights are purly cosmetic. They are bright but not bright enough to be the daytime running lights. Thats why I ordered a factory switch from the parts counter and put it on the dash. It looks factory but performs like I want it to and not when some engineer THINKS they should be on.

I have a question. I keep seeing pictures of Camaro's while driving with the halo lights on.
Here's an example. Is this what the halo's will look like while the car is driving or did they do something different to these cars to make the halo light up? |

If I am not mistaken, I believe the RS uses the Halos as the DTRLs.

the halos don't put out enough light to qualify as DRLs. the fog lights are used for that on the RS-equipped models. the headlights are the DRLs on non-RS cars
