Since we're on the topic and you might enjoy the historical aspect, here are some photos of the 30th Anniversary Pre-Production car that paced the 1996 Brickyard 400. They were taken at the 1996 Chicago Auto Show.

I'm not positive, but I think the speedway still owns the same car. Pretty sure I saw it last year at the F-Body get together at the Brickyard but I can't find the pics.

Well on that note of everyone showing off their, their buddies, the one they saw one day this one time 30th Anniversary Camaros I am still looking for one for less than $12k. Anyone with less than 50k is a collector car and they want $20,000 or more for them so I'm not interested. Whoever had the 130k miles, its a shame you will be keeping it for another 16 years. I would be interested but I wouldn't probably offer you what you want for it because of the mileage. It's a shame you used it as a daily driver. BTW his insurance will be bordering on $400 a month for it with inflation and everything. Who knows, by then it might be illegal for teens to own a V8 haha.

There's one at a very small dealership on US Roue 50 in Illinois, I think inside or right outside (to the east) of Salem. Sorry, man. Can't do any better for you. It think it had either $5,500 or $7,500 on the window, but I can't remember. Looked tip top.

Why is it a shame I used it as a daily driver and why is it a shame that I want to keep it? It still looks great, it still drives great and I still love the car. I keep my cars in excellent condition. Who cares if it has 130,000 miles. What is the point of owning a car if you don't drive it. I've been enjoying the car since it was new and will continue. Good luck finding one.

Yea its a shame, you should have locked it away in some garage somewhere to never see the light of day and enjoy. Cars were made to drive, I personally would like to thank anyone who has a special car that they drive and enjoy. I get enjoyment out of seeing those cars out on the road and get excited whenever I see them. Its an insult to the factory workers and designers who build these cars to lock them away.

She had a '79 up until 1992 but she sold it to a friend when I came into the picture. We live in Tallmadge OH (home of Summit racing and some of the nicest street cars on the planet due to that). I was just at the Camaro show last weekend where we test drove one of the V6s and we feel in love (I had honestly been in love since Transformers 1 anyway). So we walked around a bit and spotted a 97 30th Anniversary Camaro. We decided that was our car. I get to blow away an a$$hole prep at school in his 3000GT and my mom gets to have her dream car back. The only bad part is A. hard to find with less that 100,000 miles (I'm only an amateur mechanic) B. She can't drive stick. So here are the specs and hope fully I can find one in Eastern Ohio/Western PA. Any help would be awesome.
