Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division, has announced another major problem found with its vehicles just days after halting sales of one of its other models.

The luxury automaker announced on Friday that it will be cooperating with NHTSA regarding a potential fire risk found on the 2010 Lexus HS 250h, and now Lexus has announced that it has identified an engine stalling problem that is present on 270,000 vehicles already sold worldwide in an Associated Press report. The issue affects seven models, and according to Toyota, could cause the vehicles to stall while driving.

Lexus has not yet officially identified all of the vehicles being considered for the recall, but did say that approximately 90,000 of them were located in Japan, with the other 180,000 vehicles sold overseas.

A report by Japan’s Nikkei and Kyodo News agencies suggested that “tens of thousands” of Lexus LS460 models would be included in a possible recall, and a Wall Street Journal report cited a Toyota spokeswoman as stating that the Lexus LS, GS and IS models would be included.

There big mistake was being so arrogant that they wouldn't admit they had a problem, and now they are paying for it. Funny thing about Toyota and Honda is when you go to the showroom they tell you real quick this is the price take it or leave it, while Honda has not had a major issue they better learn from Toyota's mistakes and take heed.

Expect more of the same over at least the next 5 years.

I don't get what all the "Toyota=fail" remarks are coming from. Sure, they messed up with the stuck accelerators, but everyone has been having recalls as of lately. This recall is for potential fire hazards? It's a measly 270,000 compared to the 1.5 million GM had from earlier this month. No reason to gloat

The "Fail" is due to the extreme arrogance they have exuded about their quality and the image of infallibility they have created and brainwashed their customers into not only believing but arrogantly spreading.

This myth of their quality makes me sick and people just eat it up as gospel. The myth is coming undone.

Maybe I see things differently, but I don't see them as any more arrogant than any of the other automakers. Oh well, we can agree to disagree

Toyotas are perfect and never experience problems. Just like German cars have superior engineering. And domestics are gas guzzling rattle traps.

Toyota is acting exactly the same as GM did before they went bankrupt. Their quest to overtake GM as world's largest automaker has murdered their quality standards.
