My last 6 are 212084 and it is a 2010.

So I'm guessing that it is the 12,084 made. ?

Pretty sure yours is 112,084 for 2010. Once they hit 100,000 the 7th digit advances to 2 and 5 digit numbering starts from zero again.

Thanks for the correction. 112,084 and I bought it on May 7, 2010.

That most significant digit was confusing until I read through your post and ketel0ne's post about half a dozen times.

99,454... The one is not part of the sequence. If yours was actually 199K that one would be a 2.

Is low VIN more valuable?

I am going to "try to" buy, a 2010 orange 2SS/RS tomorrow!! Our local dealer has a GM exec. car on the lot.. very pricy $43,500 Cdn (17000 KM=10,625 mi.) and I am trading my 2010 Mustang GT Prem Convertible (2071 miles) The car on his lot is #9000039 It was at Toronto new car show.. He also has a black #9000029 I will let you know how I do...

and for those still scratching there heads the cars with VIN's that start with a 0 instead of a 1 or 2 are preproduction or Capture Test Fleet vehicles used to check for possible problems on the line. Some CTF's were sold as used.

I can't imagine a low VIN number mass produced car being worth more 20+ years from now than any other within that build unless it is documented/signed by an iconic figure, has a unique set of (factory) options that were very limited and desirable, and/or the car itself is a celebrity/record holder.

Good examples would be Leno's or Rick Hedrick's Camaro, Official Transformers set cars, maybe the first few ZL550/575s and official Pace Car editions...

These low vin cars have an R6P "special order activity" code attached to them which make them very desirable to some... especially a very low number like the OP is deciding on.

For his sake, I hope I'm wrong... Museum delivered Corvettes don't hold any greater value, I can't see a car with a birth certificate fairing much better...

A Camaro enthusiast may see some value in it 20+ years from now, but doubt a collector will care, numbers matching non-modded car will be what they look for.

A 2012 Z/28 (coupe/convertible), ABM & SGM SSs and a COPO car (if they ever do one...) will be the low numbered cars to pursue.
