Agreed

Carbon Flash is part of the 100th Anniversary package you can get on the "normal" Corvette, Grand Sport, Z06 or ZR1 Corvettes. Carbon Flash is available with the 45th Anniversary package on the 2LT V6 or 2SS V8......but not the ZL1.

Really?......If I want Carbon Flash I can get it on a 2LT V6 Camaro for $28,000 (before options) with the 45th Anniversary package but I can NOT get it on a ZL1 Camaro that will likely come in at $50K+?! Uh, seriously?

Somebody at GM dropped the ball on this one in my opinion. Soemeone "in the know" please, DO TELL the rationale that went into not making Carbon Flash (with or without 45th package) available on the ZL1.

Without it, there is absolutely no other color that I'm interested in for a ZL1. I mean I really love my IBM, but I think it would be nice to make a change to something that catches the eye with the ZL1. Oh well. I guess I'll just wait till '13

I remembered the first production SS went for 350,000 at BJ. The ZL1 could fetch 500,000+

Yeah, the only question is how much he will spend on it...

I would be willing to bet that Rick Hendrick already has his waiting for him. As with most of the pre-production versions that they auction, they will probably say before the bidding that you will be the first regular consumer to recieve yours. That is what they did for the honor and valor edition a year or so ago. Rick alredy had his lined up and they announced that you would recieve the first one available to the general public. But you would still get a very low production number after the GM execs and Rick. Unless the one Hendrick has lined up is not this color and he really really wants it.

I flew to LA this morning to catch the ZL1 at the Orange County show. Turns out it might not be there. So rented a Camaro at LAX, picked up my daughter and we are driving to Vegas where I know there is a ZL1 hiding out. Will take some more pics tonight or tomorrow morning. This ZL1 bug is so addicting!

I've been begging for one since the start of production in '09. They came out with synergy,

Even though it grew on me, it's not what others including myself wanted.

There is also another thread on this subject that contains the barret jackson catalog entry that states, "Shown here in its pre-production form, you'll receive the 69th production 2012 Camaro ZL1. This will be the only production vehicle in the Carbon Flash Metallic exterior color. The winning bidder will be able to order and select their options for the vehicle from the car's available choices." This is a direct quote from their website.
