I have satin on my car and wished it was gloss. The satin is a pain to keep clean looking. The dust and dirt would wipe right off the gloss paint.

Just a quick question, someone told me that gloss black rims are highly easy to get a lot of scratches on and all, is that true?

I would think either could get scratched mine do ok. I wax them like car paint and use detail spray to clean them with.

Local Powder Coat place quoted me $80 a rim for a total of $320. I'm thinking of Gloss Black for my Red Rock Metallic 2014 Camaro SS.

This is easy! Do gloss and if you want, plastidip it afterwards whenever you feel you want satin. Then peel when you want gloss again!
I just plastidipped mine because I'm cheap and I do think it looks more raw/aggressive and the gloss looks more refined. J |

I've had my wheels done flat for a little over a year. I really like the look, but once I rip off all this flat black plastidip I'll be thinking about going shiney.

You really have three basic choices. mat, satin and gloss. The satin is a little glossier than true mat. I would go with gloss and have the powder coat guy finish it with a coat of clear over the black to help with the scratch aspect.

Honestly I wouldn't go satin because Ik I would assume they were just platidipped if I saw them and if I spent the money to powder coat I wouldn't wana have it look just like someone who spent $50 on plastidip
