Thanks for any advice everyone

I have to agree the 1911's are great guns, get a cleaning kit and spend some time on youtube learning how to dissemble and maintain it, then get to modding
Side note: it's important you get something that's comfortable for you to hold/shoot, I know some people dislike the 1911's due to their size and recoil. I highly suggest you find a range that will rent you guns so you can test them out. If you have money to burn get a kimber 1911 imo.

You guys need to drive down to Wichita Falls and shoot at the DoubleTap ranch. We have USPSA matches every 4th saturday and 3 gun matches every quarter.

Monthly matches are usually 6-7 stages and 24-32 rounds per stage of run and gun fun.

Heres a vid of one of our Dallas Shooters at last years DoubleTap championship, the 2nd largest USPSA match in the country with over 300 shooters. Im one of the the range officers on stage 2

The libtards really think banning "standard capacity" magazines (not clips!!!) and limiting them to 10 rounds is going to save us! I beg to differ.

Any idiot that really wants to could just practice for a month or so and load up with 6 or more 10 rounders and achieve the same damn results.

This is Travis Tomasie, he shoots at our annual Match, Double tap championship and usually wins it.

Oh, they can ban all semi automatic handguns and even if they could not obtain a semi legally they could still be pretty damn effective. Bottom line bans dont do shit

Here's a link, http://doubletapranch.com/Double_Tap...ront_Page.html

There's a 3 gun match the 29th Dec, but i will be down in Ft Worth. My boy's playing in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Duncan also has a pretty good USPSA range. i have shot their match a couple times.

Depends on the state. They sell a couple of different AR-15 models. Bushmaster, Sig, and DPMS. Might be more... but I know they sold those for sure. When was the "last time you checked"? Or have you never checked and just assumed?

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sig-Sauer-...Scope/21677320

They pulled the Bushmaster I think... don't know what happened to the DPMS. Can't find it on their website.

Edit: Found the DPMS, and here are some more I missed... at walmart:

All are AR platforms.

On a completely related note... why do people keep popping up this thread and open a reply box to say something when it's obvious they don't know what they're talking about? I feel like I'm reading an "editorial" on yahoo news. At least humble up and say "oh... my bad". The only person that did that was Nasty2ss. And that was just opinion. Props to you sir/ma'am.
