Done!!!

I have two pictures of each and a link to the thread you posted above. Other than seeing them in person, these pictures show the contrasting differences between the two colors...

Are you only going to show your car off to people in your driveway at 4:00 in the afternoon when there are no clouds in the sky and the sun is shining because that is when the sun hits it just right to make the car look good?
my comment was aimed at the equality of quality of the photos, not whether or not each color only looked good in a certain setting.

either way, it has been fixed.

...and by the way, just to show how pictures can play with the color...

Look at the first two photos in this thread of the '01 and the '69. They don't even appear to be same shade of orange. Infact, the car in the BRIGHTER lighting looks DARKER in the pictures. Same happens to IOM.

The tail close-up shows more orange.
Camera, lighting, it all makes a BIG difference....Like home movies vs. Hollywood...Mine were taken mid-day mostly cloudy.

Ofcourse all of these colors will look different under different lighting. What you pointed out is precisely why I posted those two representations of Hugger orange on older model Camaro's so there would be no doubt that was the color being compared. Metallic color's look nice and IOM is a nice pleasing color. However to me at least it is more red in color than orange. If you ask a child what color they see when looking at the car, I guarantee you they will say red. Show them Hugger orange and they see orange.. I would like to see plain hugger orange or even metallic hugger orange as a color option on the camaro. In today's day and age, metallic hugger orange would be just fine and you get the best of both worlds as a mix between the old and the new..

Sorry, can't change the rules to a metallic hugger. You're pitting the metallic and pearlescent Inferno Orange against plain jane Hugger Orange.

And you also can't use a child's mind to judge anything. In high school I drove a 1978 Monte Carlo that was painted the exact same color as a Minilla Folder, and my 3 year old sister called it the "orange car".

So you're saying a metallic hugger orange would get your vote, like the convertible concept below might be?

A metallic hugger orange is no longer hugger orange. But to play along...

I would not describe an orange like that found on the concept 'vert as bland, boring and flat. In that sense, it would get my vote.

Whether or not I'd buy it over IOM, I can't answer. I'd have to see the two side by side, but I would likely still be drawn to IOM.

xl1200r,

So by showing a picture of IOM that makes it look closer to Hugger orange instead of the actual color that it is makes you happy, be my guest. I have seen the color in person and it does not look at all like the picture of the Hummer you posted above or the solstice. Under heavy artificial lighting indoors, victory red can look orange as I have witnessed yesterday at the Miami auto show. below is victory red under heavy lighting and it looks more orange than your example of IOM on the solstice.. The pictures even fooled me into thinking it was IOM. However at the autoshow, the red RS badge looks orange due to the lighting as well..

Victory Red RS below (not IOM)

The pictures I posted were only to show that if you can make an orange look both really bright orange, and really dark (almost red), then the real color likely exists somewhere in the middle.

Buy what you like, paint your car like a traffic cone, i don't really care. I've made my case and I'm done with this childish thread. I posted against my better judgement in the first place.
