GM is a bunch of losers for not addressing this !! I've had the same problem for a while now, dealerships and GM refuse to do anything about it. it's ridiculous.

I wouldn't call them losers, although I feel your pain! I think that GM had to take some concessions when it came to producing a performance car like the Camaro SS to keep it in a certain price range. For $35,000 your not going to get a Z06 spec Camaro. I do believe that one of those cut backs in quality to save money is this Tremec6060. The syncros and output shaft are subpar, IMO, and it is probably due to a looser spec from GM to Tremec for the Camaro. So, with that said, I don't think GM is really going to do anything about it and this will continue to plague this car in the next couple years until the redesign in 2015! We'll see, hopefully I'm wrong!

Just put amsoil torque drive in yesterday and all the problems are gone I really can't believe it, shifts like butter at any temp/rpm. I had mobil 1 syn ATF in it before and the notchiness/grinding was still there. I posted this in a couple other threads too to let everyone know what worked for me, just seemed like no one was trying the torque drive, just Mobil and Royalpurple or the normal amsoil syn ATF. I had a rough feel/engagment in my clutch too and that's even gone. I picked it up for 37bucks plus tax from a local amsoil dealer. Hope the fix isn't short lived.

I tried the Mobil1 fix, it actually got worse so I went back to GM fluid! As an update to my situation, I just picked up my car from having the transmission COMPLETELY REPLACED, not just repaired! I had it in to the dealership 3x over the past year and a half complaining about this but it took an email to GM to get it resolved! GM shipped a brand new trans to my dealership and they replaced it under warranty.

I was out of town when it was done so I had my friend pick it up. The weather sucks here still so I haven't had a chance to try it out. Hopefully this week! I'll report back on how it is now as soon as I can!

Even if it's still a little notchy, which I hope not, at least I don't have to worry about the output shaft blowing up (my vin is under 25,000 when GM discovered and fixed the prob on the assembly line)!

Do you have a part number for the torque drive? Glad to hear it helped yours! Oh and I like your choice of color! Great minds think alike!

Update... Not so good, but workable. It only happens with the tranny is cold. Warm it up and I can't get it to happen (near 180)... It only started on my car when it got cold outside, so most likely, come spring/summer, it will be forgotten. It isn't a solution to the problem of course, but at least it's known that it can go away and how. Hopefully Chevy will fess up and fix it but in the meantime, I know when I have to shift like a ***** and when i can shift strong.

I have the same 2-3 notchyness on my 2011 2SS, it doesn't make a difference if it's still cold or warmed up, but revving to about 3500RPM with a nice smooth shift seems to help.

I also put the MGW shifter in and it made no difference. I just bought Red Line D4 ATF that will be here tomorrow to see if it will make a change. I will update after the drive with the Red Line fluids.

Has anybody else tried the Red Line fluid?

Update! I actually had a chance with a break in the weather to really give the new transmission a good shaking out! I must say I'm pleased so far! 2nd gear is smooth as silk and 3rd, although notchy when cold, seems to be acceptable after up to temp, not perfect though! I'm hoping it will only get better as I break it in and the weather warms up! Thank you GM for stepping up and replacing my trans!

Yea, so far so good! I've only had it out a couple times lately due to the weather, it's finally starting to break! 2nd gear is def better, almost flawless! 3rd gear is still a little notchy but acceptable! I also noticed that my Hurst short throw has less vibration when accellerating. Could it be that GM installed an output shaft bearing in mine? Hmm! Also, maybe 2nd gear has a carbon blocker ring? Hmm! Couldn't get an answer out of the GM rep though, he just said it's a new transmission that's all. He wouldn't admit to carbon blocker or bearing so I'm just speculating that's all....wishful thinking!
