As far as a technician being able to do it, ALL a technician can do is load factory 2013 firmware/calibration into a factory 2013 radio which has major issues in a situation like this going back 2 full software revisions on bus architecture. This should be a fairly obvious answer as my link didn't exist in production in 2010 LOL
and how did you supposed I did it

You gave a tech a 2013 vin and had him flash the radio with the stock calibration 2013 4.x calibration.

Whats the module address and what security algorithm does the silver box use? How big is the OS segment of the flash?

GTPprix sent me an funny e-mail, first one offered to change Bluetooth device name to say Gen5diy and not the brand of the car, we love that but dont think you guys will like it, then he said why not do Camaro, i think you guys will like it, so what do you want on the Bluetooth device name.

Let us know by the weekend so we can see how to set them up.

Thanks guys.

Nooo I didn't mean the startup screen that would be super involved to change all of that since it resides in a different area, figure out the format, figure out the certificate signing etc. I was thinking of changing the Bluetooth device name to gen5diy so that when you pair a phone you know you got the authentic kit

Testing you? You'd actually have to have specific knowledge on the subject if you did anything other than the incorrect factory 2013 programming for the unit. You'd also have the very basic answers to the questions I've been repeatedly asking you. Thanks for confirming what I already knew!

I like the idea of CAMARO by default if it is easier to just make them all the same, but having CAMARO SS or RS, or even a custom one as an extra cost option would be cool too.
