what do you guys think about AFM on 2013 L99

i'm interested in the AFM with the L99....some have said , they hardley notice the cylinder de activation when crusing on the frwy..........what about slow speed in traffic..do you feel a hesitation of just sluggish, if you not using much throttle.....??

As the stock system breaks in you'll begin to notice it more and more anytime the RPM's are under 2k. I notice it more when cruising locally then I do on the hwy. AFM sucks! I feel there is more hesitation kicking over then it being sluggish, neither of which is terrible but really annoying especially the sound. And if anyone that tells you then cannot hear it is tone deaf!

I am at 1350 miles and just today have set up to have that shit tuned out as I cannot take it anymore.

Haven't really noticed it at highway speeds, can feel it a little at lower speeds, but no REAL hesitation, it kicks back to all 8 real fast from my short 2 weeks of experience.

AFM sucked on my 2012. I don't want a Camaro that runs on 4 cylinders, ever. I am thankful to this forum for informing and directing me the way to get a good tune. If I would have done my homework before buying my car, I probably would have got the M6. But as of now, I am more than happy with my A6. It runs and sounds like a Camaro should. It's pretty bad ass. Thanks to JRE for making my car right.

I agree, I noticed it much more just driving around locally than I ever did on the interstate.

But to be fair, I didn't notice it being all that bad until AFTER I added the axle back exhaust.
The factory system does a pretty good job of hiding the sound.
But the factory system is way too quiet.

I have the exact same feeling.
Once I had it tuned out, it woke the car up and I am very happy with it now.

AFM is an annoying bitch but honestly it's not a deal breaker, though I will eventually tune it out when I get a new exhaust on. I knew there was AFM when I bought my A6 but an auto was what I wanted due to the traffic/retards around here, whenever I can help it I keep it above the RPMs that keeps it out of AFM

Could only stand it for about 6mo. Tuned out, and much happier. Won't ever buy a car that has a good amount of TQ that comes with AFM again.

Would be better if AFM wasn't on these vehicles. I would gladly pay a gas guzzler tax than to have this. As you drive your car more you will notice AFM more. If you ever decide to start throwing on some after market exhaust systems, whether it be high flow cats, cat back, axle back, you will notice AFM even more.

I test drove an L99 right before I drove an LS3. The L99 felt much more rough and bogged down, especially on the highway. I had a 20 min drive in the L99 and by the end of the drive I could hear AFM going on and off. This surprised me since I've driven plenty of other cars with AFM, and I've never felt it before. That drive made me decide on the LS3.
