New IOM arrived this Morning first thing. They send it to whom ever does the Stripes and they call calls back and says,

Stripes Won't stay Down, In terms of Sticking. Has to Re-Order them?

Pretty Strange. I mean yea its 115 Degrees here in Arizona, but still.

Strange. Anyone ever hear of something like that?

Plus I guess the Black Ones are On Shortage???

My dealer had the same issue with water bubbles and few slight wrinkles in the stripes they were going to take them back off but decided to put the car in the heat booth at the body shop for about an hour. After being in the booth the worked with the stripes and everything turned out fine.

So go get the car and come back after the dealer has new Stripes and hold the $ for the parts.

Congrats on the car!

Ask them how many Camaro's they've done so far... Most stripe guys will tell you the "first" one was a learning experience....

Poor prep is the issue and the installer probably never did them before.

115 is why. If it's 3m it's got microencapsulated adhesive. The high temps probably damaged the glue.

Yup. Wow you should have seen what the Arizona Sun did to this. Completely un-usable. Kind of makes me wonder how well they will hold up for everyone who lives in the SunBelt.

Its been suggested (if you stay with this kit concept) to perhaps send it out and have them made with 3M film instead.

Of Course I think the thing to do is have them painted on anyway. Esp. after seeing what was left of this kit after the Hot Arizona Heat got to them.

Anyway yea the Dealer gave me the option, 1000 to paint them. Not to bad given at least you'll know it will hold up under Our Sun here.

What do you guys think?

at least they admitted it and told you about it. My stripes had some bubbles but they wrote a contract to replace the stripes if they didnt work out in the heat. Im sure your dealer will do the right thing. Not every pair of stripes is going to go on perfectly the first time, just not going to happen. I like how people on here are so surprised when something minor doesnt happen or work out and they feel if the are getting screwed
