Is the delay in my order?

OK so i ordered back in march and I have two different event codes. Dealer has me at 2051, the forums have me at 1100 weird. Here's my point I ordered a 1SS/ RS Black with red stripes, ground effects, air intake, shorty headers, and cat back exhaust. I am thinking that the extra parts I have added are the reason for the delay. I cant find many cars with these options which leads me to believe something is going on and the news that the ground effects supplier went belly up doesn't help. Any one have any ideas?

2051 means that your order was changed. 1100 means the preliminary ordered has been accepted by GM (which only means they have your order) Your dealer has no allocation if you've been at 1100 for more than a week or so. You will stay at 1100 until your dealer gets an allocation for your order which could be right away, weeks or even months before your order gets into cue for production. Find out from your dealer when he will get allocation for your particular order. You will not move from 1100 until he gets allocation. At this point the allocation is the issue, not what options you've chosen.

I don't think red stripes is a valid option? Maybe they were removed by the dealer. I also have doubts about some of the other options you have listed.

I have the print out the options are all there ( i took out the subs cant justify a thousand dollars for subs) they are also located on one of the chevy sites you can even get a billet aluminum fuel door. As for the stripes I believe it is offically orange but looks kinda red to me I mix them up sometimes.

Ahh, gotcha I can understand the mixup on the stripes. I know the fuel door is valid, just didn't think the exhaust had made it through the cuts. I'd like to get those myself.

I Really hate this allocation system it is the dumbest thing ever made. I hope the person who invented it got fired and i hope the new GM gets rid of it soon. If i ordered a car guess what that means I am buying it I shouldn't have to wait because my dealer didn't sell enough corvettes. You have dealers with like 20 camaros on their lots and i cant get one... "fair" system

GM is regulated by the government in the allocation process. Allocation is not GM's fault or idea (they would rather have none) nor is it the dealer's fault. But...your dealer should be upfront and honest with you about when he will get allocation for your order.

Not really sure I understand this comment?? Your original question was if anyone had any ideas on why you were at 1100 when you ordered 4 months ago. All I'm saying is that if you ordered in March and are still at 1100, your dealer has no allocation for your order and I don't think it has anything to do with what options you've chosen. I ordered at the end of April and received my car a little over 9 wks later...my dealer had the allocation for my order.

lol no I was making the comment that if they didnt lie to me they wouldnt be selling me a car

but I have gotten off topic so my next question is how often does GM tell the dealers there allocations once a month? I have read on the forums that new allocations will be handed out in oct but that doesnt sound right

Someone with more knowledge about the allocation process will have to chime in....I'm really not sure. I think the dealers were given xxx number of allocations when production began, then that # of allocations were spread out and given on a monthly or weekly basis? Hopefully one of the dealer's who frequent this site will come on this thread and explain in detail?

yeah, I know there are two allocation systems one to build all cars and one to order camaros my dealer had 10 camaro allocations I am number 3 the first 2 are delivered and sold already but they get set number of "build allocations" per month i assume. Or i am dead wrong about all of that lol
