Rotate tires?
I never had a car that had "staggered tires" I would normally rotate the front diverside with the rear driverside, and the same with the passenger side. This may be a stupid question, but do I swap the back tires? That goes against the little I know about tire rotation.

No, they don't get rotated.
If you switched to a "square" setup you could

For what its worth, you can rotate side to side. I have done it. Its amazing how each tire wears differently.

as long as they are not direction -- side to side may work. My ZL1 GoodYears I have on my 2SS are directional so I would not be able to rotate them.
