weird "liquid" sound at 2k-3k rpm

Ok, so this might get a lot of laughs and inappropriate comments, but I have noticed when cruising at 2K and up (with the radio turned down) that I hear what to me sounds like maybe the coolant in pipes in/around the heater core. it annoys me (I hate rattles and such in the car) and wondered if anybody else out there has noticed this, or is my car purposely doing this to bug me.

It's a 2ss manual.

Any input (appropriate) appreciated.

If it is behind the passenger dash, then it is a coolant line. Had the same problem with mine. Have it checked out and worked on at your dealership.

what did they do for you?

I don't want them to say "it's normal, live with it". I have have many cars, and a vette with the same engine and never heard this before. What did your dealer do? It almost sounds like there is a restriction or something there.

He just replaced the coolants lines. They can't really say no to you, if it is under warranty then they have no choice but to look at it.

Sounds like air bubbles in the cooling system flowing threw the heater hose and/core.

my truck had that problem, it was air trapped in coolant lines [heater core] coolant lines under the hood were re-routed to correct the problem.

Inappropriate comment: Not to downgrade the love I feel for my car, but if I also had a Camaro, the sound would be from "water" running down my pants-leg as I lost control while giggling because I had a second awesome car!

How's THAT for "inappropriate"?

There's a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) on how to fix this. The search function is your friend. Click on the link below!

its a common issue. they dont actually replace the lines, just install a valve by the heater core, the culprit for the noise

88-98 GM trucks had the same issue only it was worse, sounded like an ocean wave. It seams that GM would have come up with a solution by now and used it in their new cars.
