Will a CAI affect the sound of the car?
I haven't done any mods to the engine or exhaust so the CAI will be my first mod. Will it affect the sound of the car? If so, how?

Put a CAI on mine and it does make it sound very good under acceleration. Sounds like my 2010 Silverado with the 5.3L did with a K&N CAI.

It creates a deeper, throatier sound.
Definitely worth the money! I suggest PM'ing one of the vendors on here for more information Nick C.

Nice video above. Not only is there a sound difference but if you buy a high quality cold air intake there is an HP gain.

You know that sound you hear from under the hood of the V8 when they get on it and it makes the whirring sound like it may have a super charger. I call it the power whine sound. I can hear that sound from under the hood of mine after I installed it.

YES! i would recommend the K&N with the metal pipe, sounds awesome and doesn't cost nearly as much as some others.

I think the sound the engine makes is louder, but not the exhaust.

For Christmas I treated myself to a few upgrades. Got the CAI and Vmax ported throttle body put on first. I installed it all myself in about 40 minutes. You hear a loud mean growl when you step on it coming from under the hood. Definite performance boost!
About 5 days later I added the MRT V2 Axleback exhaust. A muffler shop welded it in place in about a half hour for 100 bucks. All I can say is WOW! This car does indeed sound AWESOME! The growl/roar is now heard coming from in front and behind you. And you don't have to step on it to hear it. If I didn't know better I'd swear it was a V8. By the way, Apex Chase set me up. Great service! Couldn't be happier with my purchase! |
