John McLaughlin is on the first Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD.
I love the Ovation guitar the guy in the middle is playing. I had one of those years ago. Mine was a 12 string. I hocked it for money to buy a wedding ring set. I really wish I had that guitar back more than anyone could know.

Now I am all inspired to pick up my acoustic guitar and make noises that don't sound like any of these videos.

So is John Mayer. Clapton calls him...Slowhand Jnr. Says Mayer doesn't realize how talented he really could be.

Mayer was on all 3 of the festival DVDs. On the third one he was performing with Keith Urban.

Clapton hand picked each performer in those festivals based on their guitar talent. Regardless of genre. You don't appear on one of those unless you are one of the top guitarists in the world.

I've been a DEAD HEAD for years. Very happily have seen the new group Dead & Co. 5 times(so far). Admit I knew ZILCH about Mayer. First time I saw them in Vegas...looked at my boyfriend...AMAZED...saying...you CAN'T learn to play like that...you HAVE to be born with talent. I admit I have become TOTALLY obsessed with JM.

How about Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Kurt Cobain all rolled into one?

We got to see Ayron Jones Live this past Saturday on Bainbridge Island. It was a killer show. The guy plays his guts out.

David Gilmore... just plays and plays.

Jimmy Page... Jeff Beck... Brian May... Mark Knopfler... Angus Young... Eric Johnson... I'll stop there.

Wish I could listen to them all on the same stage.
