jl audio 10w7
Anyone try this sub in a Subthum* box in a vert? He makes a box for it. I just wondered if it truly has enough air space for it and if so what amp did you use to push it.

It's advertised at 1.15 cu ft....the short answer is no, it's too small. The driver requires (at a minimum) a 9" depth with a 14"x14" faceplate. Anything smaller and you will lose strength needed to mount and support the W7. I highly recommend building a custom box for any W7 and driving with only the highest quality of power you can afford. The W7's also require huge air for a natural sound curve (.707Qtc). The 10" needs 1.75 cu ft, but can operate in as little as 1.0 cu ft, even JL recommends no less than 1.25 cu ft. Even if it does fit, you'd be better off buying a driver better suited for smaller enclosures than you would be limiting the potential of a W7 by cramming it in an enclosure that is too small.
