Austin Muffler Shops
Well, I told myself I wasn't going to do it.....but what the hell. Flowmaster mufflers and tips. Pretty much axle back but not the over priced kit. I'm looking for a good shop to do it. Had my Mustang done and Mineke (sp?) on 183 and McNeil - wasn't very happy. A friend of mine suggested B and B, asked them for a quote today so I'm waiting to hear back. Any other good places in town?

Round Rock Muffler and Auto did my previous car. I was happy with the price and service.

I took my Flomasters off two weeks ago and did a MBRP cat back. The Flo's were a nice change from the factory mufflers. A little more growl but not excessive. My old exhaust is sitting on the shop floor if you want to bolt it up and try it.

American Racing Technology out in Buda did mine but I think I got the "over priced kit" that you refer to : )
Its the American Thunder Systerm. Think I paid over 900 but then again I got it the first week it was sold to public : ) They're a little cheaper here... http://www.lmperformance.com/53756/119.html

busaboy: How are you liking your MBRP cat back? Was it for a LS3 or L99? any tuning needed if it's for a L99?

I like them alot. Still need to get the new xbracket from chrisx66. He did not like the exhaust due to popping on decel, I dont think its to bad. The car does feel better but I have no numbers to back that up. I dont know if tuning is going to be required. No check engine light in the last 200 miles. I have a New Era Performance cai installed and have never checked fuel trims. I have an LS3 and will be keeping my Flowmaster/factory pipes so if you would like to try it there will be no sales pressure.

That'd be awesome, but I'm running a V6.
Tommy - the "over priced" i was talking about is the axle back kit for the 6 is like 700 bucks, when just swapping the mufflers and tips people are doing it for about 300 when it's all but the same thing. If I went cat back I'd do what you did.

Heh Masterofpuppets: Have you decided? I keep hearing ART is a good place to get things done. Sam or somebody told me the price they did the muffler delete for was ~$150. Swapping out mufflers couldn't cost more than that right? $150+2 mufflers?

I emailed B and B asking for a quote, no word yet. Figured I wouldn't hear back by email. Gonna swing by there tomorrow after twin peaks. People getting the exact same set up I'm looking at are paying ~$350 out the door.

Good luck MasterofPuppets : ) Yeah I heard alot of good things about ART too thats why I ran mine out there. At the time I got mine done there were lots of folks going out there for Muffler deletes. That setup sounds pretty descent and for the price you can't beat it

i had AAA Muffler (i think thats the name) do my muffler delete. The guy has two shops, i went to the one @ Grand Avenue/IH-35. Its the big yellow bldg off the access road. They did all of the custom pipework there at the shop while I stood and watched everything. I think it ran me like 180 total. I would definitely use them again.

I had Muffin Mufflers (http://www.muffinmuffler.com/) do my Integra and it was absolute top-notch work. Mechanics commented on how good the work was literally years afterwards. I supplied a DC Sports header and they did everything else in a pretty short amount of time. Highly recommend them.

Round Rock Muffler did the mufflers on my husband's 68 camaro and on mine. They did a great job on both of them..
