Has anyone done this

Swap the l99 stock gears to a 3.73 .... Is it worth it? Big difference ? Fun to drive ? Gas mileage ?

I'm hearing that the 1LE gears are the way to go. You get a nice increase in torque.

I believe the 1LE comes with 3.91 not 3.73

That is correct. 1LE uses 3.91
3.73 are made by Richmond and 3.70 are made by LPE
The ZL1 uses 3.73, but the gear from that casing will not fit a stock SS.
