1) Accuweather.com has Rain and 58F predicted for next Sunday. Certainly not vert weather...but hopefully it will improve as we get closer.
2) I ran the 'course' today. All roads in good condition, well, understanding we are in PA so they're no where near perfect...At least none of the roads were that crappy chip/seal oil/stone mess the state lay's down so that's good. 3) We're going to stay in PA the entire drive, no crossing into NJ. 4) After leaving Washington's Crossing parking lot, we'll cross Van Sandt bridge and then drop back to River Rd. The plan is to stay on River Road from New Hope all the way up to Headquarters rd in Tinicum. Its about a 14 mile stretch all along the River and Canal. Hopefully we'll have some good fall color next week. 5) From there we'll check out Van Sant airport. It's a grass airstrip and if the weather's nice they fly bi-planes and pull gliders up on weekends. http://vansantairport.com/ 6) We'll then journey south, cross 3 covered bridges and can roll into Doylstown for lunch at 5 Guy's Burgers. I'll have printed copies of route with "Mileage to Next Turn" for everyone Sunday morning. |
