Resizing Photos
Can anyone give me an easy way to resize photos before uploading into a thread. When i added my pics of my new 2013 SS, they took up the whole screen. I am using Windows Vista on an HP Pavilion Laptop. No special programs for editing pictures.

go here http://www.picresize.com/ take your photo to 800x600 and it will work fine

You can do it easily in MS Paint right on your system. Resize by percentage or pixel size. Just remember to select "Maintain Aspect Ratio". Then save as a .JPEG or .GIF for less memory size.

When resizing photos, try to halve the size (or 1/4, 1/8, etc).
The reason for this is something called pixelation. If you resize from 2580x1600 to 800x600 (for example), those numbers don't round properly, so it trys to interpret what the color might not normally be...so it won't look as clean as if you take an image from 2560x1600 to 1280x800.

Do you have Microsoft Office on your computer? If so Microsoft Office Picture Manager works great. Other wise I use Photoscape. I like to resize down to 640x480 max but normally I try to go to 480 on the long side and whatever it automatically goes to on the short side.

The first one above is 640x480. second one is 448x336. Which one do you think looks the best?

Since you have Vista you can always open your picture first and then use the Snipping Tool.
Just click New on Snip it and draw a box around your picture and save as JPG. Whatever size that you snip will be the same displayed when you post it back to the forum.
