I am definitely not a pro or experienced. But what I have read is the gouge number for starting is 80Hz. If you have aftermarket speakers, they should advertise their range, and you can adjust it to match their numbers.

As low as you can go without the speakers being overplayed at high volume. A ballpark for most will be somewhere around 70-80hz for a 6x9", 90-110hz for a 6 1/2", 10-120hz for a 5 1/4" and so on. Basically you want to play just the front or rear speakers at a descent volume, and turn the frequency down until you start to hear distortion, then turn it back up slightly.

luckily the speaker boxes had the frequency on them because there was no spec sheet in the boxes. my front 6 1/2 say 65-20khz and the rears say 45-22khz i tried it at all different settings and didnt seem to hear much difference. i guess i'll leave it in between those numbers.

After you tune the frequency make sure you tune the fader. fading to the rear will make for a more full sound stage up front.

I also have that annoying pop after i take the key out and open the door. tried delaying with a relay but it doesnt work. I'm trying to figure out a way to shut the amps off before the radio and still keep my factory chimes active. I think i'm going to make a special harness to use my factory amp for the chimes and make the chimes come out of the center channel since im not using it. nothing is ever easy.
