From the few pixs that I have seen it looks like this unit would obstruct the view of the 4 gauges if you have them. Anyone else get that impression?

How much was the kit and did you get the one that keeps the steering wheel controls and On-Star?

Certainly does look that way. I don't have gauges but planned on getting
them in the future. I don't think the Metra kit does that may have to stick with that.

I paid $329.00 for the kit and the module add on was 59 to keep onstar and controls

Basically $390 to retain full functionality of the OEM system. Kinda worth it, IMO. The kit is beautiful!

Metra kit is a big ol POS. Interface stinks, fit stinks. Place I pre-ordered Alpine from says it wont be shipping this year.

If the alpine is color matched then it will look sick but the first picture on this thread it's not matched and looks horrible. If it is matched then it's just 4 or 5 colors of blah....

You got a hell of a deal! I paid $349 for the dash kit, And $149 to retain Onstar. My kit wont even ship til mid or end of the month. You sure you got the Alpine?

If I were you, id install it and make sure it worked right and fit good before painting.
