Doug Thorley Shorty Headers and SLP Loudmouth II installed!
After a couple busted knuckles and several experiments at twisting my hands and arms in ways not meant for creatures with bones, I got my Doug Thorley shorty headers installed! An air ratchet was $50.00 well spent (after I pulled my stock manifolds, of course). Don't even ask me about my spark plug adventure...
Very pleased with the slight performance boost and sound. It made slapping on the SLP LM II axleback child's play! Overall, the exhaust note on my LS3 is vastly improved - I like the fact that you now hear rumbles of performance. If anyone is contemplating installing either of these parts, don't hesitate to drop me a PM if you have any questions. Couple pix: |

Are the headers 1 3/4" primaries? What made you decide to go with the doug thorleys? Im looking for a header and catback option on mine and I was just wondering.

Edrock did you need to get a tune after putting on shorty headers and the flowmaster mufflers? Where did you get the x-pipe from?

I believe they are 1 3/4 not 1 7/8. I went with the DT shorties because I got a GREAT deal on them used from a fellow forum member. I wasn't planning on doing shorties this fall but the deal was too good to pass up. I chose shortys because I do not want to get a tune, otherwise longtubes would have been my pick.

Thanks for sharing They look great! I'm considering these or Borla/GMPP, personally. I just prefer the stainless but in my climate, I don't think coated shorties are going to be giving up anything, in the way of overall life-span. If you have more pics' to share, I can tell you that you have at least one interested person
