Car shaking

Yesterday I took the Camaro out of the garage for a little drive. When I came to a stop light it seemed like the car would vibrate a little more than usual and then it would settle back down. When I would get on the throttle the exhaust started crackling. I put on some American Racing Headers about 150 - 200 miles ago, but during those miles it never crackled before.

I still have not gotten around to getting the car tuned yet. Any ideas on what is causing this? I understand the exhaust popping on when slowing down, but never expected it to pop while getting on the throttle.

From my understanding headers won't make you go lean, but a cold air intake would. However, from what I have read Cold Air Inductions wont screw up your AFR.

But maybe a combination of both can cause an issue?

True, but while sitting idle at a stop sometimes the engine will drop into 4 cyl mode or under a light load and this can cause some vibration as well as exhaust note / tone changes which with a factory exhaust is not as noticeable. The range device makes the engine stay in 8 cyl mode ... always and does not mess with the factory tune.

This is true, I forgot about that. That's the reason the L99 has the flexible cats. OP, you may be feeling the effects of AFM.

Good point. Didn't think about that. Any further ideas of why all of a sudden my exhaust is popping when I get on it?

I've read that headers make the exhaust pop more. Can't say for sure, but ill be able to tell you tomorrow as my headers are going in.

I guess I'm fine with the popping, but I just thought it was unusual that it just started as opposed to when I put them on 200 miles ago. Definitely scared the crap out of me because i wasn't expecting it. Thought I hit something at first.

Well if you want to avoid tuning but want to get rid of the AFM I am selling my range device for $150 shipped.

Thanks for the offer, but I am planning on tunning it sometime this year. I have stuff going on right now...basement got some water in it, wifes pregnant...yada yada yada. Unfortunately the nearest dyno tuner is about 2 1/2 hours away.
