Have used for years on all of my cars and hot rods...never a problem. My father in law uses one on his black 32 and I can tell you it has NEVER EVER left a scratch in the paint.

Be careful and it is NOT a problem...same is said for towels, Microfiber, waffle weaves, diapers and whatever else touches your paint surface. JUST BE CAREFUL.

Absolutely right...if you're very careful to be sure there are no contaminants on the blade, you should be fine...which is the same for towels, etc., as you've said.

I just personally don't feel "comfortable" using one.

I used one for 7 years on my previous car....and never once had to remove scratches due to the appliance. The California duster is also considered a no-no by many, and that works fine too. It all comes down to technique. Very rarely does any product, be it a liquid, a brush, at whatever ruin anything when used properly.

In my view, I'd say that probably just about all of problems where paint is being damaged is either mother nature, accidents, or the human beings that don't know what they are doing when they try to clean their car. Do you think that mother nature produces those perfect elliptical swirls..?.

Having said that...the LESS you touch your paint, the less likely for a problem at your own hand.

Squeegie?

Nope... Too Scary for me!!!!

I'm not gonna stop you from using it though...

I'll stick with my microfiber towels. If there is any dirt I missed, it's not going to stay on the part that touches the car.. it gets into the nooks and crannies of the towel.
