COLLEGE
Hey camaro5!
I just recently graduated from high school and am constantly thinking of the future. Now that im going to college i would like some input on guys that have already already passed my predicament. What were your majors? what is your career? I just want to hear some feedback on what is the most successful or FUN major that i can finally decide on. Im actually hoping to get into the Computer science but i just cant decide |

Computer Science: Avionics.
Why? Almost everything in the industry is moving to computer control. Internet hotspots on the aircraft, radar, radios, computer controlled flight surfaces.. Also, depending on where you go, you could end up flying for free on the company dime or even earning a pilot's license on that same dime. IMO it's worth it. I went for Jet engines and aircraft in general, but found that I'm also doing just as much electronic and computer work as I am riveting and fixing engines. Not to mention programmers are being picked up in droves by avionics companies to help design new programs for systems. |

LOL, you better hurry up and decide! I got a management degree. Unless you can handle all of the BS that goes on in business, I recommend you pursue the computer science degree.

I just graduated from KU with a BA in Political Science with 4 concentrations.
If you like computers, start pursuing it right away. Spread out your high-level classes as much as possible over your college career to lighten your workload.

If I'm not mistaken, my cousin went into computer science and currently works for Lockheed Martin...and makes a six figure salary.
I'm going to Ohio State next year, Animal Sciences major and DVM after undergrad.

I have a year left of college and I am getting a bachelors degree in Graphic Design. It is so fun, but you really have to have that artistic sense to be successful.

Recent Auburn Grad here, I started in Pre-Med but hated the curriculum, started to hate medicine more and then decided to switch.
I graduated with a degree in Building and Construction Science from the best BSCI school in the nation (yeah War damn eagle... sorry for the shameless plug) If there is any advice I have for you it would be this. No matter what you start in make sure that you do your damn best in every class even if it seems stupid. Many colleges within the actual school will have entrance requirements to get into their indiviual programs and in most cases those BS classes can mean the difference between you getting into a major that you might really like. |

BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. Now to pay off all the loans.
Just remember if you do decide to go into a technical field your education never really stops, there are always seminars and extra classes that one can take that will help your career. For me I will probably will get another degree ( BS in EE) or a Masters in ME not sure, but want to take some time off before I start again. If I ever do. It all depends on what subjects you enjoy working with. Currently working as a test engineer.
