Hocking Hills cruise - Sat, Oct. 16th

2nd Annual Cruise to the Hills

I am just setting the date at Saturday, October 16th.

Basically same as last year if you went, meet in the morning, cruise Hocking Hills' various sites (some light hiking) and then do dinner. Was a great time last year, hope to repeat this year.

Post up if you want to come.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 16th. I found the posting from last year, we will just do the same thing again. It worked nice and was a good time. We can explore some different areas too if we like.

MEET at Rock House in Hocking Hills at 9:00. Those coming from the same area can join up where ever they please and meet the rest of the group at 9:00 at The Rock House. There is an optional ½ mile hike at the Rock House. It also has a nice big parking lot and it usually pretty empty. We can all get acquainted for those of us who don't know each other, or catch up with those who we haven't seen in a while. A lot of us have new mods to talk about so it should be fun for all. Once we get our fill of chit chat, we can move out towards Ash Cave. Upon departing the Rock House we will be taking SR-374 for 6.1 miles, then right on SR-664 for 2.9 miles, then left on SR-56 for 3.8 miles to Ash Cave.

STOP Ash Cave . There is an optional ½ mile hike at Ash Cave . Upon departing Ash Cave we will be taking SR-56 for .4 miles, then left on SR-374 for 1.1 miles to Cedar Falls .

STOP Cedar Falls. There is an optional ½ mile hike at Cedar Falls . Upon departing Cedar Falls we will be taking SR-374 for 1.8 miles, then left of SR-374/SR-664 for .7 miles to Old Man’s Cave

STOP Old Man’s Cave. There is lots of hiking to do at Old Man’s Cave. Lots to see and do including a gift shop, rest rooms and a snack shop. Upon departing Old Man’s Cave we will be taking SR-664 for 10.7 miles to Millstone BBQ for dinner. Upon departing Millstone BBQ, everyone is on their own for directions home. Just press your blue button!

Here is the website for Millstone BBQ: http://www.millstonebbq.com/

NOTE: Breakfast is on your own before meeting at the Rock House and we intend to make it to the BBQ Restaurant about 4:00 but could be later or earlier depending on how long we stay at certain places, traffic and how much we get stopped talking about the cars. Please bring snacks and drinks. I know there is a snack shop at Old Man’s Cave but not sure about anywhere else.

There is a map posted on down of the current route.

Pray for thunderstorms early that morning so the kids' soccer games get cancelled, and then we can make it.

Cool... I missed my car's birthday by one day. I was driving on August 6th when I realized that the day before was his birthday. Funny thing is I did pamper it A LOT on the 5th and didnt even realize. Wash, clay, two coats of polish and detailed the interior... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

OK this is playing out to be pretty big... hope for good weather like last year! More details to follow...

Possibly. Depends on whether or not my professors decide to spring a metric ****ton of homework/exams on me that weekend. I'll probably need a ride though.
