Replace driver seat or just foam?
Seats pretty worn, can a whole new seat be installed plug and play or does it require computer reprogramming or such?
Looks like replacing the foam and other innards for lumbar might be a huge pita, thoughts? What years can be put in a 2012 2LT/RS? Thanks for your valued feedback |

that's what a good auto upholsterer is for....No whole new seat is not needed, and stock seats seat covers can be bought to be installed, or you can get whole sets from places like leatherseats.com, and most people are not going to have a steamer to stretch the leather/vinyl ,or hog ring pliers ,or commercial sewing machine and lots of good foam or other things like glue around to fix their own seat. Talk to several auto upholstery places and read reviews for them.....

I have a similar issue. My drivers bolster is worn and cracked from the stupid brass rivets on my jeans constantly catching on it when I get in.

I don't know it'll be worth it. With as much use as my car gets (sales, long drives) I'm guessing the heating element and other mechanicals (which are already getting creaky) is going to need replacing as well. Haven't priced this stuff out but guessing all the parts might be close to a whole new-ish seat from boneyard? Will call a dealer and just ask what a straight out price would be to start from. Bought this car in part because the seats are the best I've tried and back pain was relieved greatly just driving with that heat on
