Anyone have experience with Double X-Pipes ?
Anyone ever try a double x-pipe exhaust on a 5th Gen? Sounds like they might have benefits of reducing drone and creating a unique exhaust sound. No performance gain expected, just a sound change I'm guessing. Some have posted on other forums that they give a small gain in low-end TQ and a small loss of peak HP due to the extra turbulance created.
Wondering if this could be either an alternative to J-Pipes, or possibly a way to create an exotic exhaust sound? I really know zip about these, but ran across some posts on a G8 forum. Wondering if any in our forum have tried this setup. Here's a G8 running double x-pipes with resonators in between:

I didn't know anyone would actually do this. I was joking with someone a while back about doing an exhaust with only X-pipes and mufflers.

Hope it would not be as gimmicky as the O-Pipe dual exhaust system:

Cross drilled SS brake lines are my favorite though.

Here is a video of that same car. Doesn't sound like much to me. Maybe he should have left out the resonators.

It doesn't sound bad and in theory I could see additional TQ.

This G8 is Alternative Auto Performance's shop car. It runs 11.90's. Read this about it HERE. Another crap video/audio quality there too - ARGH. Poking around some more, I found that Bassani used to make a Double X-Pipe for the Corvette Z06, another company GT Pro makes/made them for Bimmers, Mercedes and Infiniti's. Yet another, Art Performance makes them for Lincoln LSCs. All seemed to cite removing drone as the primary reason for the design. Not a new idea, but not sure if a good idea
