I have the AirAid. It's not CARB legal, but they have submitted paperwork. By the time SMOG rolls around for me, 2016, should be good...or I'll be in a new car by then maybe.

Here in the PRK, intakes have to pass tests and be CARB legal. As far as I know there aren't ANY CAI's that are CARB legal. Doesn't mean people don't do it, but if for some reason you get stopped you'll have to take it off. |

Yup illegal...got pulled over for no front license plate...the CHP officer said to pop the hood...I did and he said that there's no sticker on my intake and he issued me a warning.
Im not sure if it will be a problem when smog comes around...anyone know???

Unless you know a smog place that will pass it on the visual test if it clears the rest of smog, you need to put the stock one on for the test...because it is a fail just on the visual...

so does that mean i could get an injen, use it until 2017 (first smog year for my car) then put the stock back on for smog, and the injen back on once the stock passes smog?

WA has same rules as CA - I talked to a LOT of people before choosing one. The way they test emissions here in WA, as long as there's no CEL, they have no reason to pop your hood, so not having the CARB EO number shouldn't be an issue.
I only found one cai that has the CARB EO number, and it requires a tune... can't remember which brand off the top of my head, but it was on a comparison table I saw here on C5.
