Crap Paint on 2010's

This issue has be around for a while, the early Camaro's had bad paint jobs. My paint has been chipping off every since I've owned the Camaro.

Anyone know the approximate cost to have it repainted? Has some minor dents and needs a new fascia.

I always understood it as the shift from solvent to water based paints for environment has caused the paint to chip away easier.

I had a 4th gen trans am with over 90k that still had Less chips than my g8 at 20k and my camaro at 30k.

Price of paint can vary greatly from person to person, location etc. I've had a bumper painted for $100 for a tundra and another with minimal damage and repairs for $2600.

So you need a new fascia? Any damage behind it? You asking for cost of painting whole car or just touching up spots.

Those auto painters that roam dealers once a week can spot touch chips with a hypodermic needle and matched paint pretty good for cheap.

It' all in the prep and paint isn't cheap I would say you should be in the 4 to 6 thousand range to do it right.

The paint on my early ( 8/4/09) 10 SS is still almost chip free after 8 years and 50,000 miles.
From the reports here I know i've been very lucky. Luck of the draw I guess.

You’re probably looking at $4k maybe $5k for a good quality repaint. You need to find a quality shop and get a quote, really find 2 shops to get a quote from. Some will charge out the rear just because and others will give an honest price. Would be a good time to add in any exterior mods so that they’d all be painted at the same time

My former 2011 Summit White Camaro had crappy paint as well. At 37k miles it started to flake all around the side lip of the hood and inside the windshield pillar areas that go into the fender by the door. The dealership couldn't help me since I was past my 3yr/36k mile warranty. Even when I had my car serviced with them for everything. I was then referred to a different dealer with a body shop. They wanted to know if I had my car serviced with them, and if so they may help me out, out of goodwill to have it repainted, but if other portions of the car started to peel and flake, they couldn't help me anymore. Long story short, my car wasn't serviced with them and they turned me down. I ended up selling the car to CarMax since I refused to pay money for a paint job on a low mileage car. I also have learned that this was a common problem on white cars.
